Heritage Open Days
The Three Solway Churches (St Michael's Burgh-by-Sands, St Mary's Beaumont and St Michael's Bowness-on-Solway) each take part in the national Heritage Open Days scheme.
All three offer light refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits/squash) and a steward to welcome visitors and show them round if required. Trained guides are also on duty at St. Michael’s Burgh-by-Sands.
Heritage Open Days 2019
Thursday 6 – Sunday 9 September and Thursday 13 – Sunday 16 September
Opening times 2019: Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 September, 11am to 4pm and Sunday 22 September 1 to 4pm
There will be tower tours to first floor level on the hour and guided tours of the church throughout the day. Minimum age for tower tours is eight years and children from eight to sixteen must be accompanied by an adult.
Full disabled access apart from the first floor of the tower.
WC and baby changing facilities available.
Saturday 21 September 11 am to 4 pm. Stewards on duty and refreshments available. Display - Memories of Grinsdale.
Friday 20 September and Saturday 21 September 11 am to 4 pm; Sunday 22 September 1 to 4 pm. Stewards on duty at most times.
